The ‘How To Train Your Dark Dragon’ franchise, based on the beloved children’s book series by George R.R. Martin, is making its long-awaited debut online on DVD and Blu-ray.
The film, directed by Martin, stars Emma Watson as an aspiring trainer who must defeat the dragon-inspired dragon-slaying monster, Tiamat, in a fight for the love of her life, Kaiju.
While the film has been described as an epic fantasy epic, many viewers have criticized the way it portrays dragons in the books.
While Martin was not available for comment, the film’s description on IMDB reads, “The film is set in the fictional world of the books, and it is about a young woman who learns to master her powers of flight, using her skills to battle the evil dragon-man.”
The film’s trailer includes a shot of Kaiju, a dragon that the film shows to be a real-life animal.
A caption on the IMDB synopsis reads, “‘How to train your dragon’ takes a look at what dragons are and how they work.
